El Primer Residente forma parte de la serie Retratos, la cuál Santiago también llama “Universo Personal”.
Las piezas de esta macro serie, son representaciones de personajes que aparecen, guiadas por el subconsciente, en los sueños.

Santiago cree que estos personajes, aun siendo irreconciliables, sin embargo extremadamente familiares, son personas que alguna vez vimos, a lo largo de nuestras vidas. Nuestro subconsciente trae de vuelta la memoria de aquellos seres que de una manera u otra se cruzaron en nuestro camino y nos llevaron a tomar las decisiones que nos trajeron, el día de hoy, a estar aquí.

El primer residente es un homenaje a aquel habitante de la casa, en Anatole France que algunas vez vivió sus muros y ahora cuelga su memoria de uno de ellos.

The First Resident is part of the series Portraits, which Santiago also calls “Personal Universe.”

The pieces in this macro series are representations of people who, guided by the subconscious, appear in his dreams.

Santiago believes that these characters, incongruous yet extremely familiar, are people we saw at some point during our lives. Our subconscious brings back the memory of those beings who in one way or another crossed our path and led us to make the decisions that brought us here today.

The First Resident is an homage to Anatole France, an inhabitant of the house who once lived within its walls and whose memory now hangs on one of them.
